Jon & Elaine Winter (Aaron, Jacob & Benjamin) -Serving with SEND International

June 2002 Jon and Elaine began their ministry in Tokyo with their family as Church Planters. Relationship building is the key in Japan and they are forming relationships with their neighbours and other contacts made through: English classes, cultural outreach events (cooking, "western" holiday celebrations like Thanksgiving and Christmas, etc) and Bible discussion groups. SEND partners with the Japanese Church to provide resources so that new ministries can be established, and then turned over to Japanese pastors.

The Japanese are intensely affected by the deep traditions of their society and by the financial success that has made them the second biggest economy in the world. Underneath a glittering coating of technology lie hearts of desperate emptiness. Japan is an extremely influential member of the Asian community in technology and finance. Many Christians in Japan now sense that God is about to break through, bringing to life seed that has been planted for many years.
