Weekday Activities

Tuesday Ladies and Men’s Fellowship Bible Study

Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. the opportunity is provided for both ladies and men (separately) to gather around the Word of God to discuss subjects that are applicable and appropriate for their lives. This study lasts for approximately one hour each week and is led by various members of the church family so that it is again, extremely meaningful and there is full participation.

Wednesday is Family Night

On a Wednesday evening the Awana Youth Program is provide. This Bible based, exciting program for children and young people is meeting family needs. We are delighted to offer ministry opportunities for this level for those from three years up to the teen years, meeting in different settings in our complex. Awana is certainly a bible based, Christ-exalting program, running from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m.

For those not involved in Awana, and for adults, there is the opportunity for Prayer and Bible Study, beginning at 7:00 p.m. and lasting for one hour. Various subjects are considered and dealt with, often in a discussion type format as well as in a teaching setting. Like Sunday, Wednesday evening climaxes with the opportunity for friendship and fellowship as tea and coffee are served for all ages.

Special Ministries

During the year there are special services, such as; Good Friday, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and on those occasions when perhaps the family will benefit and the community will be enriched through various services and meetings etc.

Missions – as a church we are deeply committed to Missions, as the Missions section of our web site will reveal to you, but already Safe Haven has sent its first Missions Team to serve needy people in the name of Christ and that was to Guatemala, in Central America. Since then others, in an individual capacity as well as groups, have been serving God in outreaches at home and overseas. Over and above our regular support of the missionaries whose profiles you have on the web here, we respond to immediate needs as they are presented to us and as God enables us. For example, in December last it was a privilege for us to raise almost $5000.00 to meet the basic needs of AIDS orphans in Africa. Then of course as the year 2005 began we became involved in responding as a local church to the Tsunami disaster in South-East Asia, providing ‘Survival Kits’ which included: 5 gallons of clean water, medicines, rice, flour, oil, soap, matches, a tarp and poles to make a tent, clothing and local food. These were distributed in India, where the need was presented to us and over $8,000.00 was donated to this project.

Summer Picnics in the Park – opportunity is given to families to gather on a Sunday afternoon for a BBQ, games and for friendship. Of course this enriches our community life.

Fall Corn Roast – another outreach that the church engages in to meet the social needs of its people.
