Family Worship – Sundays @ 10:00 am
Safe Haven seeks to be sensitive to all ages in the format of worship, and therefore our praise is blended with the old hymns of the faith which have tremendous teaching material and the contemporary worship songs that speak not only to one’s need for God, but one’s need for fellowship.
Worship provides the opportunity for participation of the lay people as well as full time staff and of course this adds a fresh dynamic each Sunday as members of the family participate in the service. The climax of worship is of course time spent in the Word of God and Pastor seeks to bring messages that are appropriate for today’s generation and applicable to individuals and families, to couples, to groups – indeed, to all who are seeking to apply the Word of God to their lives and to live in a way that will please God and benefit their fellow man.
During the main part of the year Pastor leads us in a walk through the Bible drawing from each of the Biblical books, their meaning, their setting, the message for the time in which they were written, and of course the message for today. This series is complimented with various topics and of course seasonal messages, again relying on the Holy Spirit to cause the Word of God to come alive to the listener and each message is illustrated by the use of power point.
Another feature of our family worship that is extremely meaningful is our family Prayer Altar, where individuals and families are given the opportunity to come with their needs to the altar and there, prayer is offered on their behalf by the congregation, and when needed, the Elders will lay hands on individuals, anoint them with oil and pray over them.
At the end of the service there is ample opportunity for fellowship and friendship making as tea, coffee and refreshments are provided faithfully each week.
Children’s Worship
This is a program for children 7-11 years of age where using their Bibles and doing a variety of activities and crafts, equips them to respond to God in faith at church, home and school.
"Showing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength, and His wonderful works that He hath done."
